HALLELUJAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THIS PICTURE REPRESENTS HOW I FEEL!!!! I JUST PUT ALL OF MY LAST ASSIGNMENTS THAT ARE DUE FOR THE REST OF MY UVU LIFE IN MY FOLDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND IT'S NOT MIDNIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If only I was a Southern Baptist right now...I would be dancing and shouting praises to Jesus!
However, I'm perfectly okay having a reverent and sacred prayer with my Heavenly Father to express my gratitude with all the spiritual energy I possess.
P.S I still have a final to take next week, but HEY! If I don't know the answers by now.....I most certaintly shouldn't be a nurse. In other words, I'm not too stressed.
OH HAPPY DAY! oh happy day OH HAPPY DAY!

ALLERGIES UNDER CONTROL

Some of you may remember that our Teia girl is allergic to many dietary things. After seeing two specialists in 08' we discovered she is allergic to all dairy, wheat, rice, soy bean, peanuts, sesame seed, barley and rye.

Houston we have a problem!

Allergies under control!

It's been a difficult journey trying to provide her with a nutritious diet. Besides her allergies she will only eat few fruit, no veggies, and ONLY NOW small amounts of meat. She will eat on a regular basis....hotdogs, vienna sausage, cold cut turkey, french fries, Mcdonald's nuggets & hamburgers, oatmeal, cereal with no milk, and pizza with just sauce.
We're SLOWLY expanding her diet based on her WILLINGNESS and her bodies toleration. Tei can now have moderate amounts of wheat & rice. Some days we get carried away and let her eat to her hearts desire (like half a bag of pretzels),but then she breaks out with eczema. We know when she sneaks to eat dairy because she gets hives around her mouth and diarrhea. Busted!

EDEN'S KEEP

A must go to place! My friend Wendy is the sister to the owners of this romantic "get away." It's right here in Utah!

WHAT A JOKE

The American Idol judges drive me crazy! They've been playing up their "save" and putting on an act every week as they pretend to collaborate. It's all about the judges this year and how silly they can look on the show. Everyone knows there's 3 or 4 worth saving in the competition, so why would the judges waste their time saving someone who wouldn't win...if America votes them off that early...they ain't gonna win. Then this week....give me a break! They only had two more weeks to use their "save." It's obvious who the least favorites are in this competition (according to people who actually vote)because Lil, Anoop, and Matt have been in the bottom 3 the most. So they'll be going home over the next two weeks (two go home next show). Well dah! Of course they'll save Matt this week. The judges know the favorites haven't been in the bottom 3 thus far,(with the exception of Allison) so why would they go home over the next two weeks. It's obvious Lil, Anoop, and Matt is next on the list...possibly Allison (not that I would personally agree)because she's also been in the bottom 3. If you've watched this show ALL seasons..you know...the real shockers is usually the 4th person who goes home. Well, the judges can't save anyone then...they only had two weeks more to use their save. Which means they can't save anyone once the top 4 is determined. What a joke this "save" charade has been. Why not go back to "American Idol Gives Back"...something worth watching other then the contestants singing. Can you tell I needed to get that off my chest. My honey isn't home to let it out on and Sarah hasn't watched it yet...can't let it off on her either. Kimani didn't have any comments for me. Let it out on "paper" or in my case blogging. P.S. Not that I think Matt deserved to go home this week. I would've preferred Lil. Oh well! If Taylor Hicks can win AI then anything can happen on this show! LOL! GO Danny!! Go Kris!!

EASTER

Easter was just perfect. Presents, laughs, testimony, spiritual nourishment, pictures, BBQ, egg hunt, fun in the sun, kanikapila, and special friends.

I have to share...Ki knows who the real easter bunny is. I thought that would make life easier. I can reuse baskets...Tei's too young to understand what's going on there. Well...Easter morning I carried Tei over to see what the "Easter Bunny" brought her and she said, "Oh! The Easter Bunny got me the SAME BASKET!!" What?? How does she remember Easter last year? She was just a couple of months older then her 2nd birthday. I can't win! I'll have to go get them NEW baskets next year.

We had Stake Conference at the tabernacle and it was amazing. The spirit was so strong and the messages were just beautiful. Our ward was assigned to be the choir and I was so touched by the youth participation. Several of our high school youth participated. We do have amazing youth in our ward. We left spiritually nourished with a lot of love and joy in our hearts. We took pictures of the kids in front of the tabernacle.

My studmuffin!

My sweet girl. Thankyou papa and gramma for the u'i dress.

After church the kids wanted to play with "tato" (playdoh).

I have to say...the kids did an awesome job coloring eggs. Of course mom and dad had to get in on the action. We made an egg for Kylee, Kayla, & Kiana too.

Thanks to my honey and Teni...we did have an Easter celebration. BBQ with the Kaufusi ohana! Craig and his ono chicken & Teni and his ono ribs. Mac & Potato salad went on the side....gotta have the rice too! We ate until it hurt and let the kids play.

Tei and Kaiden looking for eggs. Their faces lit up everytime they found one. Ki found the "golden egg" with $7 in it and was nice to share a buck each with Tei & Kaiden. Unfortunately, my camera went "kaput" before I could get pictures of Ki and the kids with their findings.

Tei and Kaiden looking for eggs. We ended this spritiual, fun, and relaxing day kanikapila style with Craig and Teni jamming on their "Uk's" (ukulele).

WHERE'S YOUR FAVORITE PLACES TO EAT

The Lindsey ohana eats out ALOT. School life is a big factor for our lack of cooking. However, a man knows his way to his woman's heart.....I'm spoiled by my hubby who knows I LOVE TO EAT!! PLEASE ANYONE TELL ME WHERE YOU LOVE TO EAT. I need new places to fulfill my taste bud pleasures. BTW...it doesn't have to be in Utah.
I LIKE TO EAT AT (in Utah, and in no particular order)....
*RUMBI'S
*TUCANOS ( i always get the Oreo ice cream dessert after...and yes I make room for that!)
*L&L HAWAIIAN BBQ (day shift only)
*OLIVE GARDEN
*RED LOBSTER (Ultimate Feast, with crab & lobster stuffed mushrooms)
*J DOGS (the best hot dogs in town)
*CAFE RIO (sweet pork or grilled chicken salad)
*PF CHANGS (we prefer the atmosphere in SLC; chicken wraps for an appetizer is a must!)
*Ottavios
*CHILIS (when I'm not craving anything in particular)
*SUSHI YA (at least once a month..if not, every other)
*SMOKE HOUSE (OREM ONLY!! Provo's is gross in my opinion)
*DEMAE ( I like their Bento)
*TEPANYAKI
*ARBY'S
*OUTBACK
*RED ROBIN (we love their burgers & bottomless fries. A chocolate shake is a must "to go!")
*NOODLES N COMPANY (only been once, but liked what I ate)
*ANY ONE'S HOUSE WHO WILL INVITE US (Jenn Malcom's house always has fabulous desserts I can count on)
*BBQ at the park (my honey's marinated chicken)
Craig would have a list of his own because he prefers authentic, expensive tasting foods. For example, I prefer good ole' Pizza Hut (Provo customer service is the worst though) and he prefers Settebellos in SLC. I prefer Tex Mex Cafe Rio and Craig prefers Red Iguana in SLC.
Tucano's and Red Lobster is as expensive as we get. So, If you have any suggestions for a romantic night WITHOUT kids...let me know too.
IF YOU'VE READ THIS BLOG...YOU NOW HAVE TO MAKE TIME TO RESPOND...Enquirer wants to know!

THE GUY IS A BABE!!

I have to say...if you can STILL daydream about your husband 11 years of marriage and 3 pregnancies later...he's HOT STUFF! I found myself in class daydreaming about my love today. Let me just tell you about those intense kissess....oh wait...this is a FAMILY blog. I day dream about him when we're apart (more then I care to admit). I even STILL "check him out" when he's talking to other people in public or when he drives and I'm the passenger. That skin, those lips, those eyes, that smile, and OOH that charm! Don't get me wrong....I'm in love with his inner beauty as well. That's why I'm so MADLY IN LOVE with him! We're spiritually in love...it's a deep....overwhelming feeling that words could never express enough.

I'M SICKY PEOPLE TOO

I had a LONG weekend at UVRMC doing my school clinicals on the Med/Surg unit. As you could imagine, I'm exposed to a lot of bodily fluids (interesting people too). I like to be cautious (call it smart or paranoia), so I don't greet my kids with hugs when I get home until after I've had shower.

On Saturday, Craig and the kids picked me up from the hospital after my shift. As I got out of the truck I explained to Teia why I couldn't take her out of her car seat and hold her.

MOM: Tei...momma can't get you out of the truck because momma worked with a lot of sicky people today. momma has "kaka" all over. I can't hold you until after I "bochas."

TEI: (pouty face)

Craig get's Teia out of her car seat and holds her while walking.

TEI (to daddy): Why didn't momma take care of me today? I'm sicky people too.

Craig and I bust up laughing!!

TEI: It's not funny.

Craig and I laugh harder!!

TEI: I said it's not funny! (It's written all over her face too)

She wasn't trying to be cute or funny. She was serious in her thoughts and comments. Why didn't her momma take care of her when she wasn't feeling 100% today. I can't wait until this school madness is over. My little girl is growing up too fast.

KRIS ALLEN

It's quite obvious to me that Danny and Adam are deserving of being in the top 2. However, that Kris Allen seems to be the "black horse." He impressess me each week his vocals, choice of song, stage presence, and talent with instruments. Humble and quiet guy too. He's fighting his way to the top with pure talent (no story-Danny; no freaky show-Adam). As much as I LOVE Danny...I find myself playing Kris's performances OVER AND OVER on Utube and Idols website (already listened to it 5 times while blogging). If you want to see what I'm talking about....

GO Danny and Kris!!

MY BASKETBALL STAR

Kimani has been playing city league basketball for the Lakeview "Nets." HE LOVES BASKETBALL!! He's TOTALLY into the game when he's playing. We love watching his skills improve with each game. I'd like to take credit for his skills by reminding Craig that I played basketball in high school. However, I know it's a Lindsey thing. The Lindsey boys are good basketball players. The pictures were taken by our really good friend Fritz...Fritz Photography.

CHINA

This morning I was helping Tei dig through her "dress up" basket. She wanted her Cinderella dress...of course. As we're digging through her fun girly things... this is the tiny, but shocking conversation we had...

Mom: Tei! You have alot of really cute bracelets!

Tei: I know! They come from CHINAs!

WHAT??????

Oh my dad was probably sighing in the spirit world. I can remember as long as dad was living he would always look for things that WASN'T made in China. Dad would complain, "EVERYTHING'S MADE IN CHINA!" Well dad died in 93', so he doesn't know how bad things are now. How dumb the businessmen of America are for taking so much business to China. America depends on China now. I'm not sure how Tei knows everythings made in China, but she gave me a good laugh!

KRUSH

Krush WAS the name of our turtle. We've only had him for a few months, and yesterday Ki found him dead. So sad. Don't worry....the kids are just fine. Niether one of them seemed to be affected by his death. I'm the only sad one. Believe or not...turtles do have personalities. My "Krush-e" liked me. He would get excited everytime I peeped my head around the wall to check up on him. Teia tried her best to comfort her momma. It was the cutest thing. She was worried about how her mommy was feeling. Ki could careless. He said, "Hey! Let's crack the shell open and make turtle soup!" I thought....he's so his Uncle! No offense Uncle Jeff...that thought came with a smile. Craig says, "Let's go get another one." Nice thought, but we don't know why Krush-e passed away. It's very possible that something in the tank killed him. I'm not taking chances. Well...don't have to worry about the owners kicking us out for breaking our contract. Do you think we'll see our pets in the celestial kingdom? Don't worry...I won't be devastated if I don't ever see Krush-e again. But, there are some pets in our lives that become just like our family members. Like my dog growing up....Oliver "Boo Boo" Langley. He was very much a family member. I would love to see him in the celestial kingdom! Things that make you go Hmmmmmmm.......

OLD SKOOL DEDICATIONS

Okay! This might be far out in left field. But, it has special meaning to me. Remember high school days when we used to write notes or write messages in each other's yearbooks? Well, almost always we included a song dedication with our message. It was the thing to do! We loved reading what song was dedicated to us! Okay! I was sitting at the computer doing a case study on a cancer patient. Depressing....thinking of my mom who is diagnosed with a similar type of cancer...peritoneal cancer. I decided I would play some CD's on my computer to cheer me up...music always does. I put in Carrie Underwood....of course...she's an AI winner...season 4. I played her song "Jesus Take the Wheel" over and over. I couldn't help, but think of a dear friend...Jerilyn. She had that song as a ring tone for her phone for awhile. Well...one beautiful, sunny, fresh air day in Hawaii....I was visiting home....my sister put in Carrie's CD and "Jesus Take the Wheel" played over and over. I came to tears as I was home (my real home) thinking about the special people in my life that I've come to love back in Utah. I thought of Jerilyn and thought that I couldn't handle the day I would have to say goodbye to her (if we ever left Utah). I thought about how much I loved her and how grateful I am to her for a zillion reasons. Just to name two...she's a STRONG woman with a generous heart. We've watched and stoodby eachother through life's trials and survived Provo life around the 800/880 North block=0)

I would like to let many others in my life know how much I love them. I'm going to start blogging some "OLD SKOOL" dedications to my dearest and beloved.

Here's to bringing back old traditions!

To: Jerilyn Anderson (Metler)
Luv: Meliss
Song: Jesus Take the Wheel
Message: Thank you for MANY years of support, love, fun, tears, memories, lessons learned, late nights, trials endured, okay...gossip, most of all...examples of the strength of a woman. I love you!

3 YRS.OLD WITH A MIND OF A 5 YEAR OLD

The kids had a dentist appt. yesterday before school got out, so I had to take Kimani out of school early. Teia and I got Kimani from class and we headed out the school doors. We got outside and bumped into about ten 5th graders (boys & girls) in the parking lot on a VERY QUIET sunny afternoon. One 5th grade girl said, "Hi Kimani!" Kimani responded, "Hi!" Teia quickly responds, "OOOHHH Kimani got a girrrlfriend!" "OOOHHH Kimani got a girrrlfriend!" I about died! Kimani and I started laughing so hard! We were both laughing in shock that our little 3 year old just shouted those words out loud (it echoed across campus too). How does her 3 year old mind comprehend such things. She responded so quickly too. I thought...that's something a 5 year old would do to embarrass their sibiling. She would've done a very good job at embarrassing her 2nd grade brother in front of a bunch of 5th graders. However, this picture truly tells their personalities. Teia is a wild and fun girl with 'no shame'. Kimani is easy going and loves his sister so very much. When Teia is wild and naughty....Ki just laughs because he thinks his sister is just so cute. I LOVE THESE KIDS!!!

YOU KNOW YOU FROM HAWAII WHEN....

You can understand and speak PIDGIN...
You go to dinner and 'make one plate' with all the extra food leftover.
You automatically take off your shoes in people's homes.
You eat rice every single day.
You say, 'shave ice' or 'ice shave'.. big island style...not' snow cones'.
You know what ukus are and have had them at least once before when you was one little keiki.
You know you aren't supposed to whistle at night time, cross your chopsticks, or stick your fork straight out of your rice.
You eat Arare.
You know what 'tutu' means.
It's SHOYU, not soy sauce.
You know that sushi means sushi, not RAW FISH!
You eat malasadas.
You have a billion pairs of slippers in front your door when your family gets together.
You eat portuguese sausage, eggs, and rice for breakfast.
You know why there are alphabets on trees on graduation day.
You know what 'stink eye' is; and how to give it.
You give directions using mauka and makai.
You say 'Brah' not 'Bro'.
You know what 'Morgan's Corner ' is ... (And it still scares you!)
You call it 'saimin' not 'Top Ramen'.
The surf report is on your speed dial...
You have said 'wat, owe you money?', 'karang your alas', or 'dakine'.
You eat mango with shoyu, vinegar, and pepper.
You like ume, daikon, and kim chee better than pickles
You never understood why adding pineapple and ham to a pizza made it Hawaiian to the rest of the world.
You have a separate circuit breaker for your rice cooker.
You measure the water for the rice by the knuckle of your index finger.
The condiments at the dinner table are shoyu, ketchup, chili peppah watah, kimchee, takuwan, Hawaiian salt and pickled onion.
You call everyone older than you 'Aunty' or 'Uncle' even though they aren't related to you.
Your philosophy is 'Bumbai'.
You are barefoot in most of your elementary school pictures.
Your only suit is a bathing suit.
You drive barefoot.
You feel guilt leaving a get-together without helping clean up.
The only time you honk your horn is once a year during the safety check.
You can live and let live with a smile in your heart.
Your cousin is Japanese-Chinese- French-Filipino- Korean-Scottish- Portuguese- Hawaiian, plus some stuff too manini to mention.
You watch your favorite shows 'on top the TV'.
An approaching hurricane means only one thing! Surf's up, brah!
'You like beef' has nothing to do with what's for dinner

MY AMERICAN IDOL

COACH MIKE WILTON

"LET'S GO WARRIORS!!" Why was I the only one in my family shouting these words? Yet, the only one who didn't get a picture with Coach Wilton...head coach for the UH Men's Vollyball team. Cougar fans, huh?
