i must share this experience....
okay, i'm a newie Costco shopper.
this newie Costco shopper didn't know that the snack bar only takes cash or check.
i go to the snack bar to order a "cheap" dinner for my family.
we all got drinks this time! we didn't have to share!
everyone was hungry and excited, so Craig takes all the food before I even pay.
the Costco dude puts the cups for our drinks on the counter and tells me $8.80.
i hand him my debit card.
"sorry mam, we only take cash or check."
"Oh crap! I don't have either!"
the dude just looks at me. (how uncomfortable is that!)
i'm standing there trying to figure out what I'm gonna do.
a lady comes up next to me and attempts to hand the Costco dude $10.
the Costco dude says, "Sorry mam. I'm still helping her. You'll have to wait."
the nice lady in the white shirt says, "I know. I want to pay for it"
I turn around to see her smiling face, and I'm still pretty darn embarrassed.
"Oh my gosh. No!"
the nice lady in the white shirt says, "It happens. We all need help some times."
"Oh my gosh. Thank you so much! Can I hug you?"
We hug.
She orders her one slice of cheese pizza and pays for my bill.
I said thank you a million times.
I go to our family to tell them the story.
They also thank her.
She says, "We all need to help each other out."
I'm fighting the tears at the thought of her sweet heart.
I then see her and her teenage daughter walk out of Costco with 1 slice of cheese pizza.
Ahhh. Did she mean to by two slices of pizza, but could only by one because she had a 10 dollar bill and our bill was $8.80!
I hope not.
I will never forget this night and this lady.
I know good, sweet, and generous people still exist.
It was a humbling experience to accept such a generous offer from a stranger.
I'll never forget her words..."We all need to help each other out."
thank you Heavenly Father
